SUPPORT OPPORTUNITY
ICADV has contracted with three consultants to provide you and your staff with human resource and program support, coaching, and training at no cost. ICADV will pay the consultants directly, but your work with the consultants is confidential. They will only share your program name and the hours they provided so we can pay them for their services. We have secured funding for up to 100 hours per consultant until December 31, 2023.
TRAINING
ICADV provides various training opportunities: in-person training, live webinars, a recorded-webinar library, and an online learning center to fit your life. Our online training center includes 20-hour victim counselor training, 12 continuing advanced education courses, and a webinar library with more than 60 recorded webinars.
CERTIFICATION
The Iowa Victim Advocate Certification Program establishes certification for individuals providing victim advocacy in the State of Iowa. Victim Counselor training is required for any person providing direct service to survivors of domestic or sexual abuse at a primary-purpose crime victim centers.
MEMBERSHIP
We rely on member dues to sustain our lobbying and programming efforts. In return, ICADV advocates for funding on the state and national level; supports opposes and proposes legislation that impacts victims of various forms of violence; and provides you with support, training and technical assistance to help you meet the diverse needs of survivors.
